Macular Degneration saved me from depression - here's how!!!

I was diagnosed a year ago with macular degeneration, a disease of the retina which can sometimes lead to blindness. I was scared, but was assured by my doctor that if I took these "vitamins" and had regular eye exams, I should not be worried.
I have had major depressive episodes and anxiety for most of my life. I take medication for anxiety, a benzodiazepine, of which I feel has been detrimental to my mental health after 30 years. I was able to cut the dosage in half but still was feeling depressed and anxious.
I began taking an eye vitamin and mineral supplement, which consisted partly of Fish Oil, Omega 3 Fatty Acids: EPA and DHA in fairly large dosage. I began taking it faithfully every morning before breakfast and I have been amazed at the lifting of the depression, as though a dark cloud has gone away. Sure I have some down and anxious times, as many people do, but the improvement has been amazing!!!
I highly recommend before taking a pharmaceutical drug with potential side effects and dependence issues, to ask your doctor instead if you can give a trial of Fish Oil, Omega 3 Fatty Acids. I am so glad I went on them. There are many other health benefits aside from depression relief. It seems foolish not to take them once you are aware of their benefits.
